Objective / Purpose of the Role:
To support procurement of capital equipment and OPEX requirements for formulation plants, API plants, and R&D units across manufacturing locations. The role involves executing end-to-end procurement activities including techno-commercial evaluation, vendor coordination, negotiation support, and ensuring adherence to procurement processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities (Key Result Areas):
- Execute procurement of capital equipment for pharma manufacturing units including API, formulation, and R&D facilities
- Support procurement for new projects as well as ongoing OPEX requirements
- Conduct techno-commercial evaluation of vendor offers and prepare comparative statements
- Assist in vendor negotiations and purchase order finalization
- Ensure timely PR to PO conversion as per defined SOP timelines
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and procurement efficiency projects
- Support vendor qualification, evaluation, and consolidation
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders for timely delivery of goods and services
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, audit requirements, and legal compliance
- Work on SAP Ariba sourcing to increase spend under management
- Support implementation of Ariba commerce automation for identified vendors
Educational Qualification:
BE / B.Tech (Mandatory)
Experience:
9-10 years of relevant experience in procurement within the pharmaceutical industry (mandatory)
Key Competencies:
- Experience in procurement of capital goods, especially in API, utilities, and infrastructure equipment
- Understanding of pharma procurement processes and compliance requirements
- Basic to intermediate expertise in techno-commercial evaluation
- Knowledge of SAP Ariba (preferred)
- Good stakeholder coordination and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong process adherence
