iOS Developer AI Voice & AI Meal Scanning

We're looking for a skilled iOS Developer who is passionate about AI-driven user experiences, particularly voice intelligence and AI-based meal recognition.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced iOS Developer who will play a key role in designing and building intelligent iOS applications featuring AI voice interaction and AI-powered meal scanning. You will work on end-to-end iOS development while integrating machine learning models for voice processing, food recognition, and nutritional analysis. This role is hands-on and requires strong collaboration with AI, backend, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

iOS Development

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit.
Implement clean, modular, and scalable iOS architecture using MVVM / Clean Architecture principles.
Ensure app reliability, performance, and responsiveness across iPhone and iPad devices.

AI Voice Features

Develop AI-powered voice features, including voice input, speech-to-text, and conversational interfaces.
Integrate Apple Speech framework, AVFoundation, and third-party AI voice SDKs when required.
Collaborate with backend/AI teams to integrate LLM-based voice assistants, intent recognition, and natural language understanding.
Optimize voice interactions for low latency and on-device processing where possible.

AI Meal & Food Scanning

Implement AI-based meal scanning using the device camera to recognize food items and meals.
Integrate Core ML, Vision framework, and custom-trained ML models for food recognition.
Work with nutrition datasets to map recognized foods to calorie and macro/micronutrient values.
Handle image preprocessing, confidence scoring, and user correction flows for improved accuracy.

AI & ML Integration

Deploy and optimize Core ML models for on-device inference.
Integrate cloud-based AI services when required, ensuring secure data transfer and privacy compliance.
Collaborate with data scientists to improve model accuracy, performance, and lifecycle management.
Implement analytics to track AI feature performance and user engagement.

Platform & Product Collaboration

Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs with robust error handling.
Work closely with product managers and designers to translate AI-driven concepts into intuitive UX.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
Ensure compliance with Apple's App Store guidelines, especially around privacy and camera/microphone usage.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional iOS development experience.
Strong expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and iOS frameworks.
Proven experience implementing AI voice features (Speech-to-Text, voice commands, conversational AI).
Hands-on experience with AI-based image recognition, preferably food or meal scanning.
Strong knowledge of Core ML, Vision, and on-device ML workflows.
Experience integrating backend AI/ML APIs and handling large datasets.
Solid understanding of iOS performance optimization, memory management, and concurrency.
Familiarity with App Store submission, TestFlight, and Apple review processes.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with HealthKit, nutrition, wellness, or fitness applications.
Familiarity with LLMs, OpenAI-style APIs, or conversational AI platforms.
Experience with AVFoundation, camera pipelines, and real-time image processing.
Knowledge of Combine or async/await for modern concurrency.
Experience with Firebase, analytics, push notifications, and A/B testing.
Background in AI ethics, data privacy, and user consent handling.
