Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role, located in Chennai, for a Senior Interior Designer. The Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for managing the design vision, developing comprehensive interior designs, and leading various design projects from conception to completion. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, creating construction drawings, selecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality designs tailored to our clients needs. Collaboration with architects, contractors, and clients will also be a key aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete design process from concept to final execution.
- Meet clients to understand requirements, lifestyle needs, and budget constraints.
- Develop creative and functional designs using AutoCAD, SketchUp (or equivalent).
- Prepare detailed working drawings, 3D visuals, material specifications.
- Coordinate with production team and site supervisors to ensure designs are executed as planned.
- Review and approve junior designers drawings and ensure quality & accuracy.
- Source and suggest appropriate materials, finishes, and products.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct site visits to monitor design implementation and resolve on-site challenges.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide professional updates throughout project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in residential/commercial interior design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing executed projects.
- Proficiency in design software:AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3Ds Max, V-Ray (or similar), Coohom
- Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture, and modular design systems.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior designers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills (Tamil & English preferred).
- Ability to handleclient-facing meetings independently.
- Experience coordinating with factory/stores/production will be an added advantage.
