Job Description
Job Title: Senior Infrastructure SME
Location: Bengaluru (Onsite)
Reporting to: Senior Manager – Technology Operations
PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Senior Infrastructure SME is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing hybrid cloud and datacenter infrastructure to ensure secure, scalable, and highly available technology operations. The role drives the adoption and governance of Azure cloud platforms while integrating on-premises environments to enable seamless business operations and modernization initiatives.
This position plays a critical role in strengthening infrastructure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency by leading cloud architecture alignment, virtualization management, and disaster recovery strategies. By providing advanced technical expertise and operational support, the role ensures business continuity, supports enterprise transformation through cloud adoption, and enables technology platforms that power data, analytics, and operational capabilities across AB InBev.
KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Implement and monitor Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Application Gateway, Load Balancers).
- Deploy and manage compute services including Azure Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, and Availability Sets/Zones.
- Implement and maintain Azure Storage accounts, blob containers, and Azure Files with replication strategies.
- Configure and monitor Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for performance and health.
- Ensure governance using Azure Policy, Blueprints, and cost management tools.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery using Azure Backup
- Implement Azure governance models, compliance, and security controls.
- Optimize Azure solutions for performance, availability, and cost.
- Manage and support on-premises datacenter operations (compute, storage, networking).
- Administer VMware vSphere/ESXi clusters and Hyper-V hosts, including provisioning, snapshots, and resource management.
- Plan and execute workload migrations from VMware/Hyper-V to Azure (rehost, refactor, or modernize).
- Implement hybrid cloud integration with Azure Arc, Azure Stack HCI, and VMware/Hyper-V hybrid models.
- Ensure business continuity by integrating datacenter DR strategies with Azure services.
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and patch management for virtualization platforms.
- Provide L2 / L3 support for Aviatrix cloud networking deployments.
- Monitor and maintain Aviatrix Controller, Gateways, and Transit architectures.
- Manage upgrades, patching, and lifecycle activities of Aviatrix components.
- Support cloud network onboarding, change implementation, and configuration validation.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Education:
- Bachelor's of Engineering/ Master's of Technology in CS, IS or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years in a relevant field such as Datacenter & Cloud Operations.
Technical/Functional Skills:
Mandatory Skills:
- Proven experience as an Azure Administrator/Engineer with knowledge of AZ-104 concepts.
- Strong architectural understanding of AZ-305 concepts for designing cloud solutions.
- Hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Deep understanding of hybrid cloud models, datacenter infrastructure, and virtualization technologies.
- Solid knowledge of networking, security, and identity management across cloud and onprem environments.
- Experience with infrastructure automation (PowerShell, ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
- Familiarity with monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery tools in Azure and on-prem.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred (Good to have) Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Aviatrix multicloud networking platform.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts in AWS / Azure / GCP.
- Experience with BGP, IPsec VPN, NAT, routing tables, VPC/VNet peering, and load balancing.
