Cradlepoint is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Infra Systems Expert to join our team. This pivotal role demands end-to-end administration and operational expertise in Cloud-Native Infrastructure Services (CNIS) platforms, including Kubernetes, container runtimes, and underlying cloud infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge in Linux administration, containerization technologies, networking, and storage, ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our critical systems.
What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities
- CNIS Platform Administration: Provide end-to-end administration and operations for CNIS platforms, encompassing Kubernetes, various container runtimes, and core cloud-native infrastructure components.
- Cloud Container Distribution (CCD) Management: Manage and optimize the Cloud Container Distribution (CCD) lifecycle, including provisioning, upgrades, backup/restore, general lifecycle management, and ensuring disaster recovery readiness.
- Health & Capacity Management: Perform regular CCD health checks, configuration drift analysis, capacity tracking, and environment validation across all clusters.
- Workload Onboarding & Support: Collaborate closely with application and platform teams to seamlessly onboard workloads onto the CCD and provide dedicated CCD-level support.
- Monitoring & Performance: Monitor system performance and availability using industry-standard tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and other relevant monitoring solutions.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict compliance with all relevant security, governance, and operational policies across the infrastructure.
- DR Planning & Incident Response: Actively participate in and lead Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution, as well as conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed runbooks, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and CNIS documentation to ensure comprehensive operational readiness.
- SDI Health & Performance: Monitor the health and performance of Software-Defined Infrastructure (SDI), resolve bottlenecks, and ensure seamless integration with CNIS layers.
- CNIS Troubleshooting: Possess strong troubleshooting experience specifically with CNIS components.
- Linux System Administration: Demonstrate expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration and troubleshooting.
- Hardware Management: Possess hardware troubleshooting experience on enterprise servers such as HP ProLiant and Dell PowerEdge.
- System Maintenance: Perform essential patch management, firmware upgrades, and OS-level tuning to optimize system performance and security.
- Network Switch Management: Possess strong hands-on experience with Juniper and Extreme Networks switches, covering:
- Switch boot process management.
- Firmware upgrades.
- Backup/restore procedures.
- Border leaf switch management and troubleshooting.
- Network Architecture & Configuration: Be familiar with traffic filtering, isolation, and multi-tenant CNIS network architecture, along with proficiency in configuring VLANs, trunking, port profiles (access/trunk), and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
- Storage Administration: Possess strong knowledge of CEPH Storage administration and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience supporting and managing business-critical operations.
- In-depth knowledge and working experience on Linux Administration.
- In-depth knowledge and working experience on Docker, Kubernetes, and any other cloud platform.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills to efficiently find and resolve issues.
- Understanding of SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and its integration with container networking layers (e.g., Calico).
- Familiarity with traffic filtering, isolation, and multi-tenant CNIS network architecture.
- Proficiency in switch management, including boot processes, firmware upgrades, backup/restore, Border leaf switch management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in configuring VLANs, trunking, port profiles (access/trunk), and ACLs.
- Skills in performance analysis, component replacement, switch stacking, and chassis management.
Certifications (Preferred)
- CKA / CKAD / CKS Kubernetes certifications
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA/RHCE)
- Networking certifications (Juniper/Extreme/SDN)
- ITIL Foundation (preferred in process-driven environments)
