Role Description

The HSE MANAGER PEB construction is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety systems to ensure accident-free execution and statutory compliance during fabrication, erection, and completion of Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) projects.

Job Title: SENIOR HSE MANAGER PEB ( construction)

Reports To: Project Manager / Construction Head

Location: Chennai/ Coimbatore

Type: Full Time (Site Based)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and implement the Project Safety Plan and ensure compliance with statutory and client requirements, including the Factories Act and BOCW Act.
• Conduct Job Safety Analysis, identify hazards for height work, lifting, welding, and electrical activities, and implement control measures.
• Ensure safe working at height with full-body harnesses, lifelines, safety nets, ladders, scaffolding, and monitor roof, ridge, and gutter works.
• Supervise lifting and crane operations, check certificates, approve lifting plans, and ensure proper use of slings and accessories.
• Ensure 100% PPE compliance, maintain records, and conduct regular inspections.
• Conduct safety induction, daily toolbox talks, weekly training, and educate workers on safe erection and work practices.
• Perform daily and weekly safety inspections, report unsafe acts, and ensure corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide first aid, respond to emergencies, investigate accidents and near misses, and prepare incident reports with root cause analysis.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans, maintain fire extinguishers and first aid kits, and conduct mock drills.
• Coordinate with managers, engineers, and client safety teams, submit safety reports, maintain statistics, stop unsafe work, remove unsafe manpower, and escalate issues as needed.

Must have Qualifications/ Certifications:

6 to 8 years PEB / steel erection experience

Experience in Industrial Safety

JSA (Job Safety Analysis): Breaking down a job to identify hazards and develop controls.

LEL/UEL: Lower/Upper Explosive Limits for flammable gases.

NEBOSH, IOSH, CR is mandatory

ISO45001 Certifications Mandatory

Proficiency in HIRA and Permit Systems is Mandatory

LEL/UEL: Lower/Upper Explosive Limits for flammable gases.

Permit to Work (PTW): System for authorizing high-risk work.

LOTO (Lockout/Tagout): Procedures for controlling hazardous energy.

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Types and ensuring compliance.
