Summary Description
The Graphic Designer plays a key role in enhancing our educational content through the creation of visually compelling and engaging designs.
This role is responsible for producing high-quality design solutions across a wide range of materials, including student and teacher textbooks, print resources, and film and digital illustrations and assets.
The position requires close collaboration with editors, motion graphic designers, and members of the publishing and film teams to fully understand the goals and objectives of each project.
The Graphic Designer will translate these requirements into effective visual solutions that clearly communicate the intended message while maintaining the highest standards of design quality and brand consistency.
Essential Job Functions
Accurately interpret and implement detailed product specifications, editorial briefs, and design guidelines to ensure all outputs meet defined requirements and quality standards.
Apply a high level of technical skill to produce consistent, precise, and production-ready design assets across student and teacher materials, print, and digital formats.
Follow established workflows, templates, and processes to ensure efficiency, reliability, and consistency across all design deliverables.
Translate instructional and product guidelines into clear, structured visual solutions, ensuring accuracy of layout, typography, colour usage, and asset placement.
Work closely with editors, motion designers, and production teams to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure designs align with curriculum and product expectations.
Maintain strict attention to detail when preparing, reviewing, and finalising files to ensure outputs are error-free and meet print, digital, and accessibility standards.
Use automation tools, templates, styles, and systemised approaches to streamline repetitive tasks and improve production efficiency.
Manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, demonstrating reliability, focus, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced production environment.
Incorporate feedback accurately and promptly, ensuring revisions are implemented in line with instructions and project specifications.
Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and technical execution while maintaining compliance with established guidelines.
Contribute to team discussions and problem-solving with a practical, solutions-focused mindset that supports high-volume, high-quality content production.
Undertake additional duties within the scope of the role, as required, to support project delivery and team objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Several years of experience in a creative role (e.g. Graphic Designer, Technical Illustrator), supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, leadership, and successful project or campaign delivery.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Jira and Smartsheet.
Experience with Figma.
