We are seeking a
Senior Google Cloud Data Engineer to join our Global Data & Analytics team at Fossil Group in
Bangalore. If you are passionate about building robust data pipelines and enjoy solving complex data challenges in the cloud, this could be the perfect role for you. In this dynamic and global company, you will design and scale our Google Cloudbased data solutions to power analytics and decision making across the business.
What You Will Do In This Role
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve data jobs on Google Cloud Platform using Java and Python
- Build and optimize Dataflow and/or Dataproc pipelines to load and transform data from Google Cloud Storage into BigQuery based on business requirements
- Translate blueprinting documents into configuration designs, functional specifications, and technical solutions on Google Cloud
- Collaborate with global Architects and key stakeholders to define scalable, secure, and performant data architectures
- Conduct meetings and workshops with users to collect requirements and translate them into end-to-end technical solutions
- Perform unit testing in development environments and System Integration Testing in QA, resolving issues identified during testing
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation for all developments and support knowledge transfer to third-party service providers
Who You Are
- Hold a BS degree in Computer Science or have equivalent practical experience
- Bring 58 years of experience as a DB/SQL Developer or Java/Python Developer with strong SQL skills
- Expert in SQL, able to write complex joins and perform data transformations directly in SQL
- Experienced with relational databases and NoSQL databases, ideally in large-scale or complex environments
- Have solid hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform components such as Dataflow, Dataproc, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Composer, and/or Data Fusion
- Have developed pipelines in Java and/or Python using Dataflow or Dataproc to update BigQuery tables
- Possess good knowledge of Business Intelligence and dashboard creation, ideally with experience in Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) or similar tools
- Demonstrate leadership and self-direction, with a willingness to teach others while continuously learning new GCP technologies
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, able to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations
- A strong team player who can also work independently, with good interpersonal skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
