Main Purpose:
Plays an active role in the execution of all exploratory, appraisal, and development activities. Conducts real-time monitoring of geo-steering along with wellsite geological operations and recommends multiple options to HO for decision-making. Responsible for overseeing various laboratory tests carried out on coal cores and for quality-checking the results submitted by vendors.
Job Accountabilities:
Review stacking data for exploratory, appraisal, and development locations and recommend the optimum option for finalization.
Ensure effective communication of operational details between the Site and HO teams to track development activities and execute the GTO.
Monitor real-time geo-steering and wellsite geological operations during drilling, maintaining close coordination with the HO team.
Execute and oversee the data acquisition plan during coring operations.
Review and QC raw gas desorption data prior to detailed analysis; ensure desorption and related studies conducted by vendors comply with contractual requirements.
Review geological evaluations, including fault interpretation and stratigraphic correlations from well logs prepared by team members.
Review well completion reports and other geological deliverables.
Ensure acquisition and quality control of produced water and gas sample data.
Facilitate cross-functional coordination at the site office to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Education Required:
M.Sc/M.Tech or PhD in Geology
Experience Required:
Minimum 510 years of relevant industry experience working in operational settings and well planning as part of a subsurface team in a major E&P company.
