Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced GCP Senior Data Engineer to design, build, optimize, and maintain high-quality, cloud-native data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, DevOps, platform engineering teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and enterprise-grade data solutions. This role demands strong hands-on engineering expertise, deep cloud experience, and a passion for building robust data ecosystems that support enterprise digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Engineering & Cloud Development
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing systems on GCP.
• Build end-to-end data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Develop and manage ELT/ETL workflows, database objects, and cloud-native orchestration solutions.
• Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and data quality frameworks across distributed systems.
• Ensure secure and compliant data architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
• Collaboration & Analytics Enablement
• Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Support analytical use cases, data modeling, and enable self-service analytics.
• Partner with global stakeholders, product owners, and governance teams to drive data initiatives.
• DevOps & Platform Engineering Partnership
• Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to ensure high availability, security, and reliability of data infrastructure.
• Apply CI/CD best practices including code versioning, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
• Manage code promotion across development, testing, and production environments.
• Engineering Excellence
• Participate in peer code reviews and uphold global coding standards.
• Follow structured engineering methodologies, documentation standards, and release management processes.
• Contribute effectively within distributed, agile teams across multiple time zones.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Research and recommend new tools, technologies, and architectural patterns.
• Stay current with emerging trends in cloud, data engineering, and enterprise analytics.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  
  

Experience

• 7+ years of overall experience in data engineering or data platform development.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building data pipelines and ELT/ETL workflows.
• 3+ years of direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
