Senior Functional Consultant

Job Overview:

As a Senior Functional Consultant, you will lead prototype-driven solution definition using Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform. You will work closely with business stakeholders to

understand processes and objectives, then translate those into working prototypes that validate

requirements early and reduce ambiguity before build. You will co-design workflows, data models, user journeys, and UI experiences directly with users and product owners, ensuring the final solution is intuitive, adoptable, and grounded in real operational needs. You'll collaborate closely with Solution Architects and Technical Leads as part of a single, integrated analysis + design phase.

Responsibilities:

Prototype-Led Discovery & Design:

Lead co-design workshops that explore business processes through real system interactions

rather than lengthy documentation.

Build rapid prototypes using:

o Dataverse tables & relationships

o Model-Driven App views, forms, and navigation

o Business Process Flows and rules

o Power Automate automation patterns

Iterate prototypes with stakeholders to validate workflows, roles, screens, data, and language

before building.

Data & Workflow Definition:

Shape entity/data models aligned to real work, policies, and case lifecycles.

Define user journeys, case handling flows, queue/routing logic, SLAs, notifications, and

approval.

Ensure the solution supports access controls, audit needs, and downstream reporting.

Blueprinting the Build Phase:

Convert validated prototypes into clear functional designs, user stories, and acceptance

criteria that developers can execute confidently.

Collaborate with Solution Architects to define scope boundaries and technical approach.

Ensure the delivery team understands not just what to build, but why.

Adoption & Change:

Deliver enablement sessions using the prototype as the primary communication tool.

Ensure end-user experience, clarity of workflow, and operational fit are prioritized.

Support transition to UAT, training, and long-term ownership.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

Required:

5+ years delivering Dynamics 365 CE / Power Platform solutions.

Strong experience configuring Model-Driven Apps, Dataverse, BPFs, Security, and Power

Automate.

Skilled in leading workshops and working directly with non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to prototype solution flows rather than relying on static documentation.

Ability to articulate design decisions and trade-offs clearly.

Advantageous:

Experience in case management / regulatory / public-sector services.

Service design concepts (user journey mapping, scenario-based validation).

Familiarity with Azure DevOps for backlog and sprint definition.
