Job Description Senior Manager Finance & Accounts (Gas Business, West Africa)
Location: Noida, India (with frequent travel to West Africa – Benin, Nigeria, Togo, Tanzania, Cameroon & Republic of Congo)
Initial Assignment: Cotonou, Benin (1 year)
Reporting to: Vice President – Gas
Department: Gas Division – Finance & Accounts
About Arise IIP – Gas Division
Arise IIP Gas Division is part of Arise IIP's O&M vertical, focused on developing and managing integrated gas infrastructure projects across West Africa for the industrial zone developed by ARISE IIP in joint venture with local state government in African Region. The Gas division's portfolio includes:
- Natural Gas Pipeline Development
- LNG Storage & Distribution
- CNG Compression & Decompression Facilities
- City Gas Distribution Networks
- Alternate Fuel Sourcing & Distribution
Presently one large gas pipeline project and CNG decompression is active and under operations . Other project will become active in future for Togo, Nigeria, Tanzania, Cameroon, and RoC, supporting industrial development and national energy transition plans.
Role Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance & Accounts Leader (Manager / Senior Manager / Head level based on experience) with 10+ years of proven expertise in financial operations, audits, budgeting, SAP implementation, accounting controls, and project finance.
The role requires a strong finance professional who can:
- Oversee end to end accounting and reporting for multi country operations.
- Partner with the Business Head for all strategic financial decisions
- Manage compliance and regulatory requirements across African jurisdictions.
- Lead budgeting, cost control, SAP integration, and financial governance.
- Support project financing, cash flow planning, and lender coordination.
This is a high responsibility role critical to maintaining the financial integrity and growth of the Gas Business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Operations
- Oversee daytoday accounting across all African entities.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of AP/AR, GL, bank entries, and reconciliations.
- Maintain compliant books of accounts as per IFRS and local regulations.
- Implement and monitor SAP for all new and existing entities.
- Ensure proper tracking of prepaid expenses, accruals, GL balances, and employee accounts.
- Review vendor and customer reconciliations.
2. Budgeting, AOPs & Financial Planning
- Prepare annual AOPs (Annual Operating Plans) with the Business Head.
- Track month wise performance vs. budget & provide variance analysis.
- Develop periodic forecasts and cost control dashboards.
- Coordinate with multiple business units and regional offices for consolidated planning.
3. Financial Reporting & MIS
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports for top management.
- Consolidate expenses and accounting from all African regional offices.
- Prepare financial statements for external audits & board reviews.
- Generate business review presentations and special purpose reports.
4. Taxation, Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with taxation requirements (VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, etc.)
- Coordinate with statutory, internal, and group auditors.
- Implement SOPs and design new process controls for financial governance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks in India and West African countries.
5. Project Finance & Lender Coordination
- Work with the group's central project finance team on funding plans.
- Support financial modelling, project IMs, and lender presentations.
- Manage quarterly projected cash flows required for fund release.
- Liaise with banks for LCs, BGs, project loans, and working capital arrangements.
6. Asset Management & Capitalization
- Manage fixed asset registers, project capitalization, and asset verification.
- Lead valuation, monetization, and handover processes with stakeholders.
- Ensure timely recovery of payments and financial closure of projects.
7. Insurance, Risk & Compliance
- Manage project insurance renewals and claims.
- Implement risk controls and ensure compliance with group policies.
- Maintain documentation for legal, regulatory, and lender audits.
8. Pricing & Commercial Finance
- Support pricing strategies for: Natural Gas , LNG ,CNG
- Prepare financial models for gas sourcing and commercial negotiations.
- Conduct benchmarking and evaluate industry's best practices.
9. Team Leadership
- Lead distributed finance teams in India and West African countries.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance reviews.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders & external partners.
Candidate Profile :
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Commerce, or Accounting
- 10–15 years of relevant experience (energy / infrastructure / utilities preferred)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Indian GAAP, taxation, and audit processes
- Handson experience with SAP, Excel, and modern AI productivity tools
