About The Role

The Supplier Quality Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that all raw materials, packaging components, and outsourced products supplied to the company meet defined quality standards. This role supports supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold product integrity and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management & Qualification
  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through audits, assessments, and documentation reviews.
  • Maintain and update the Approved Supplier List (ASL) based on performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and R&D teams during supplier onboarding and product developme.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure suppliers comply with internal specifications, regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, HACCP), and industry best practices.
  • Review and approve supplier-provided quality documentation such as COAs, specifications, and test reports.
  • Conduct periodic supplier audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality systems.
  • Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
  • Investigate supplier-related non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Lead root cause analysis and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor supplier KPIs (e.g., defect rate, delivery quality, responsiveness) and drive improvement plans.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier audits, evaluations, and quality incidents.
  • Prepare regular reports on supplier performance and quality trends for management review.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing relevant supplier quality documentation

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering or Masters in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field.

Experience

  • Experience in quality assurance or consumer complaint handling in FMCG or food industry.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FSSAI).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in supplier audits, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Office and quality management systems.

Skills

  • Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., Lead Auditor, Six Sigma).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
