We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Logistics Executive to manage domestic and international logistics operations for defense products. The role involves handling EXIM documentation, customs clearance, regulatory compliance, and coordination with government authorities, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- EXIM & Documentation:
- Manage import and export documentation through EXIM portals (DGFT, ICEGATE, etc.)
- Ensure accurate filing of shipping bills, bills of entry, invoices, packing lists, and export documentation
- Maintain records as per regulatory and audit requirements
- Customs & Compliance:
- Coordinate with customs brokers for clearance of import/export shipments
- Ensure compliance with customs laws, defense regulations, and government policies
- Handle classification (HS Code), duty structure, and exemptions applicable to defense products
- Liaise with authorities like Customs, DGFT, and other regulatory bodies
- Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and execute domestic and international shipments (air/sea/road)
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, and warehouse teams
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery
- Defense-Specific Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to defense export/import regulations and licensing requirements
- Handle sensitive shipments with required security protocols
- Coordinate for approvals related to restricted or controlled items
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Work with CHA (Custom House Agents), transporters, and logistics partners
- Negotiate freight rates and service agreements
- Coordinate with internal teams (Production, Purchase, QA)
- MIS & Reporting:
- Maintain logistics data, shipment tracking reports, and cost analysis
- Prepare reports for management review
- Monitor logistics costs and suggest optimization measures
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of EXIM procedures and portal updates
- Hands-on experience with customs clearance and documentation
- Familiarity with DGFT, ICEGATE, and export/import regulations
- Understanding of defense sector compliance (preferred)
- Good coordination and communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Qualifications
- Any Bachelors degree / Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain is an added advantage
- Certification in Export-Import Management added advantage
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in logistics, preferably in manufacturing/defense sector
- Experience handling international shipments and customs clearance is mandatory
