Role Summary: With dual reporting to the respective school dean and central marketing, this role acts as the first point of contact for marketing requests, manages day-to-day school-specific marketing needs, and coordinates with central resources for more complex projects
Responsibilities:
- School-Specific Marketing Support
- Create and implement school-specific marketing materials following university brand guidelines
- Manage school social media accounts in accordance with the university social media policy
- Develop content highlighting faculty expertise, research achievements, and student success
- Support school events with appropriate marketing communications
- Assist with school newsletter development and distribution
- Create basic graphics and visual content for school needs
- Maintain school web pages with current and accurate information
Content Development
- Write compelling stories about school achievements and activities
- Interview faculty and students for feature stories
- Develop content for various channels (web, social, print)
- Edit content from academic sources for clarity and engagement
- Create promotional content for academic programs
- Ensure all content aligns with university messaging and quality standards
School Communications Liaison
- Serve as the first point of contact for marketing and communications requests
- Triage requests to determine appropriate resources and support
- Connect school stakeholders with specialised central resources when needed
- Communicate school priorities and needs to central marketing/communications teams
- Keep school leadership informed about marketing initiatives and opportunities
- Facilitate clear communication between schools and central marketing/communications
Campaign Support
- Support the implementation of university-wide marketing campaigns within the school
- Provide school-specific content and insights for university initiatives
- Help coordinate school participation in broader marketing efforts
- Track campaign performance at the school level
- Identify opportunities for school-specific marketing initiatives
Analytics & Reporting
- Track engagement metrics for school-specific marketing activities
- Monitor social media performance and growth
- Prepare regular reports on marketing activities and outcomes
- Identify trends and opportunities based on data
- Contribute to the assessment of marketing effectiveness
Key Skills:
- Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and excellent control over the English language (Verbal and Written).
- Understanding of various social media platforms and their algorithm changes
- Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. Basic knowledge of Illustrator/CorelDraw will be an added advantage.
- Ability to refine other people's ideas and come up with new ones to create a highly designed visual experience.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mass Communication or allied fields.
- Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in designing and executing communication activities, preferably in the Education sector.
- Experience with Communication/Creative agencies/Vendors will be added advantage.
