Role Overview
This role serves as the in-house legal anchor for media, events, and artist management operations. The incumbent will manage contractual, documentation, and compliance requirements, ensure timely legal support for live events and concerts, and work closely with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel. The role demands speed, accuracy, commercial awareness, and strong legal judgment.
Key Responsibilities
A. Legal Contracts & Documentation
- Draft, review, and negotiate artist management agreements, performance contracts, and appearance agreements
- Handle legal documentation for concerts and large-format events, including venue, vendor, sponsorship, and indemnity contracts
- Review NDAs and commercial contracts with quick turnaround
- Support documentation for international events and overseas artist engagements
- Ensure accuracy, legal compliance, and risk mitigation across all agreements
B. Legal Operations & Compliance
- Coordinate with external legal counsel to ensure timely contract closure and legal efficiency
- Support board resolutions, internal approvals, and corporate legal documentation
- Maintain a centralized repository of contracts, templates, and historical legal records
- Track contractual obligations, deadlines, renewals, and risk items
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal legal frameworks
C. Risk Management & Advisory
- Proactively identify and flag legal and commercial risks to the CFO and senior leadership
- Provide practical, solution-oriented legal guidance to business teams
- Support business decisions with a commercially aware legal perspective
- Assist in minimizing legal exposure while enabling business agility
D. Stakeholder Management
- Internal Stakeholders: Finance, Events, Artist Management, Production, Operations, Business Heads
- External Stakeholders: External legal counsel, artists, agents, vendors, promoters, and partners
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of media, entertainment, event, and artist contracts
- Practical understanding of concerts, live event operations, and artist management
- Ability to manage multiple contracts in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong coordination, follow-up, and documentation skills
- Commercially sound and solution-oriented mindset
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and integrity
- Ability to balance legal risk with business priorities
Preferred Background
- 3-5 years of In-house legal experience or law firm experience serving event management, concert promotion, or artist management firms
- Exposure to international contracts and cross-border event documentation
- LLB/LLM
