Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in
automation testing for data integration, ETL pipelines, and API/microservices-based systems.
The role focuses heavily on
non-UI testing,
data quality validation, and
automation frameworks for complex data transformation workflows. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with data engineers, developers, and DevOps teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability across distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for data integration and transformation workflows
- Collaborate with data engineers to understand data flows, transformation logic, and business rules
- Create and execute automated test cases for ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and microservices (non-UI)
- Validate data quality, schema, completeness, accuracy, and consistency across multiple source and target systems
- Automate regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for data-driven applications
- Implement validations for data accuracy, duplication, data loss, and format transformations (JSON, XML, XML-to-XML)
- Leverage Great Expectations for automated data quality checks and validation rules
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps teams
- Participate in requirements analysis, test planning, risk assessment, and defect management
- Log defects clearly and support root cause analysis and resolution
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 610 years of overall testing experience in enterprise environments
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java-based test automation
- 3+ years of strong experience in ETL testing
- 3+ years of experience in API / Microservices testing (non-UI)
- Strong experience in automation testing for data integration and transformation systems
- Hands-on expertise in data format transformations (JSON, XML, XML-to-XML)
- 2+ years of proficiency in writing SQL queries for data validation and profiling
- 2+ years of experience using Great Expectations for data quality validation and automation
- Experience with test frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, PyTest, or similar
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
- Strong understanding of data quality concepts, including accuracy, consistency, completeness, and integrity
- Proven job stability and ability to clear strict background verification (BGV)

Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to data integration tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica, etc.

- Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS Glue, S3, Redshift, EMR, GCP BigQuery)
- Familiarity with data cataloging, data lineage, governance, and security compliance
- Experience working in cloud-based data ecosystems
