Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior ETL Developer with strong WhereScape experience and hands-on implementation knowledge of Data Vault 2.0. The role will focus on designing, building, and optimizing automated ETL/ELT pipelines and dimensional/data vault models for enterprise data warehousing, ensuring scalable, auditable, and high-quality data delivery aligned with ITIL-based operational practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines using WhereScape (RED/3D) for enterprise data warehouse solutions.
- Implement Data Vault 2.0 architectures (Hubs, Links, Satellites) including standards for historization, auditability, and traceability.
- Build and optimize complex SQL transformations, data loads, and performance tuning activities.
- Create and maintain data models (Data Vault and downstream presentation layers such as dimensional marts as needed).
- Translate business and technical requirements into robust data integration solutions.
- Develop reusable WhereScape templates, automation patterns, and standards to improve delivery speed and consistency.
- Implement data quality checks, reconciliation controls, error handling, and operational monitoring.
- Manage scheduling, dependencies, and release deployments; support production issues and enhancements.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation (ETL mappings, lineage, runbooks, operational procedures).
- Participate in ITIL-aligned processes: incident, problem, change, and release management.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, source system SMEs, QA, and DevOps/platform teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 58 years of overall experience in ETL/DWH development.
- Strong hands-on experience with WhereScape (development, automation, job orchestration, metadata-driven builds).
- Solid implementation experience with Data Vault 2.0 (patterns, loading strategies, historization, PIT/Bridge conceptswhere applicable).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex joins, window functions, tuning, query optimization).
- Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts (staging, ODS, EDW, data marts, SCDs, lineage, audit columns).
- Strong data modeling skills (logical/physical modeling; DV and dimensional concepts).
- Working understanding of ITIL practices and production support discipline.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently, mentor juniors, and drive deliverables end-to-end.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure/AWS/GCP) and modern ELT approaches.
- Familiarity with CI/CD for data pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
- Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging concepts.
- Performance tuning experience for large-scale incremental loads and parallelization strategies.
