Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage backend engineering teams while driving the design and development of scalable solutions for complex business workflows.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Business teams to understand user personas and deliver seamless, high-quality product experiences.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices, ensuring engineers effectively leverage AI tools to accelerate coding, design documentation, and engineering productivity.
- Utilize AI tools to generate and review HLD and LLD documents, evaluate AI-generated recommendations, and guide teams in using AI for component development.
- Provide technical leadership in system architecture, microservices design, and distributed systems.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of backend platforms and services including design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure high-quality engineering standards, code reviews, and architectural best practices across the team.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and reliability issues in large-scale systems.
- Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture and strong ownership mindset.
- Collaborate closely with management, product, QA, and UI/UX teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- Drive on-time, high-quality delivery in a fast-paced start-up environment while continuously improving engineering processes and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in backend software engineering with strong technical leadership exposure.
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong sense of ownership with the ability to drive large-scale system design and delivery.
- Expertise in Java and object-oriented design principles.
- Hands-on experience with AI development tools such as Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Claude AI, CodeGeeX, Tabnine, MutableAI, Codacy, etc., for code generation and code reviews.
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs for solution design, integration, or AI-driven development workflows.
- Strong experience in building, scaling, and managing microservices-based architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to act as a role model for engineering excellence and enforce strong code quality standards across the team.
- Strong expertise in RDBMS and NoSQL technologies.
- Experience developing enterprise-scale systems such as eCommerce, manufacturing, or supply chain platforms.
- Excellent understanding of performance debugging, optimization techniques, and system reliability.
- Strong experience with Java, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS, Spring Boot, Kafka, and ELK stack.
- Experience building large-scale cloud-based systems and distributed platforms.
- Demonstrating ability to deliver high-impact solutions in fast-paced environments.
