Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Fulfilment & Logistics engineering team, with a focus on building and optimizing systems for efficient order management, seamless fulfilment, and hassle-free return and refund experiences.
Additionally, this role involves the development of features to support cross-border trading, enabling global eCommerce operations by handling the complexities of international logistics, compliance, and payments.
As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will work closely with product, operations, and business teams to deliver scalable, robust, and secure solutions for our rapidly expanding marketplace platform.

Fulfilment & Logistics Systems:
Lead engineering efforts for core logistics systems, including:
Order Management Systems (OMS): Handle order processing, inventory allocation, real-time tracking, and SLA adherence.
Fulfilment: Develop integrations with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers to enable efficient picking, packing, and shipping operations.
Returns & Refunds: Build intuitive workflows for managing returns and refunds, ensuring transparency and customer satisfaction.
Develop systems for international shipping and logistics, including multi-currency and multi-language support.
Build modules for customs documentation generation, duty/tax calculation, and regulatory compliance.
Integrate with global 3PL providers to enable cross-border fulfillment, tracking, and last-mile delivery solutions.
Collaborate with product and finance teams to implement cross-border payment solutions and fraud prevention mechanisms.
Design algorithms for optimizing shipping routes and minimizing delivery times for international orders. Technical Leadership: Define the technical roadmap for marketplace systems, ensuring alignment with business priorities and scalability requirements.
Architect scalable and secure systems capable of handling the complexities of global logistics and order processing.
Drive adoption of automation, real-time data processing, and integration best practices across fulfilment and cross-border systems
Collaborate with data science teams to integrate predictive analytics for demand forecasting, SLA management, and fraud detection.
Foster a DevOps mindset, automating deployments and improving CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, including code quality, design patterns, and system architecture.
Non-Functional Responsibilities:
Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of principal engineers, solution engineers and individual contributors.
Build a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the teams.
Set clear objectives and key results (OKRs) for engineering teams to track progress and impact. Accountable for overall squad velocity, including developer, tester and site reliability.
Partner with HR to attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent. Project, Process & Collaboration:
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software projects.
Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
Collaborate with senior leadership to define the engineering strategy, set technical goals, and prioritize projects that align with the company's vision and business objectives.
Collaborate with operations, finance, and other business units to align technology investments with company growth strategies.
Provide regular updates to executive stakeholders on project milestones, risks, and roadmaps.
Identify and implement processes that improve team efficiency, product quality, and time-to-market.
Advocate for best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies.
Manage engineering budgets, including headcount and infrastructure costs.
Ensure efficient use of resources to meet engineering and business goals.
Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
14+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4+ years in managing large, cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of fulfilment and logistics systems, including OMS, WMS, and 3PL integrations.
Proven expertise in building solutions for cross-border trading, including international shipping, customs, and payment systems.
Deep understanding of modern web and mobile development, cloud platforms, and microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with integration frameworks, ERP, WMS systems, and third-party logistics systems.
Familiarity with data platforms, machine learning, and analytics tools Leadership and Collaboration:
Demonstrated success in building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop engineering talent.
Strong ability to balance long-term strategic goals with short-term delivery milestones.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in working with globally distributed teams and managing vendors or external partners.
Familiarity with Scaled Agile development practices and tools.
