Objective of the Role:
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you serve as the technical and strategic anchor for an engineering organization. You own and evolve scalable application architectures that meet both functional and non-functional needs while embedding AI-first thinking into products, platforms, and engineering practices.
You Will:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and 35–40 engineers to drive high performance, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Champion AI adoption across the SDLC, including intelligent automation, code generation, testing, and observability.
- Define and implement AI-powered product features (e.g., personalization, recommendations, predictive insights, conversational interfaces).
- Plan and prioritize work across global teams, ensuring alignment with business goals and AI-driven transformation initiatives.
- Provide oversight and accountability for architecture decisions, including AI/ML system design, data pipelines, and model deployment.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performance engineering culture that attracts and retains top talent.
- Collaborate with Product, Program Management, QA, Data Science, and DevOps teams in an agile environment.
- Drive data-driven decision making using analytics, experimentation, and AI insights.
- Promote engineering excellence through best practices, automation, and modern frameworks.
- Stay current with advancements in AI, cloud, and distributed systems, and bring innovation into the organization.
You Must Have:
- 13+ years of software development experience in a fast-paced product organization, with leadership experience managing large engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading AI-enabled product or platform initiatives.
- Strong hands-on experience in microservices architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design.
- Experience building and deploying solutions on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) with exposure to AI/ML services (e.g., SageMaker, Azure ML, Vertex AI).
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (preferably Java) and modern frontend frameworks (React/Angular).
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or similar.
- Understanding of LLMs (Large Language Models), prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, and GenAI use cases.
- Experience integrating AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI) into applications.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering pipelines, data lakes, and real-time streaming (Kafka, Spark, etc.).
- Expertise in open-source technologies: NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra), ElasticSearch, caching (Redis, Aerospike).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS).
- Strong experience in CI/CD pipelines, canary and blue-green deployments.
- Exposure to MLOps practices: model versioning, monitoring, retraining, and governance.
- Strong database and system performance optimization skills.
- Experience with observability tools and AI-driven monitoring/alerting.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven track record in delivering high-quality scalable systems and driving agile adoption.
