Position Overview

Job Title: Senior Engineer, VP

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Description

A Senior Engineer is responsible for designing and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of this role include ensuring that solutions are well architected, with maintainability and ease of testing built in from the outset, and that they can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow. They will have gained significant experience through multiple implementations and have begun to develop both depth and breadth in a number of engineering competencies. They have extensive knowledge of design and architectural patterns. They will provide engineering thought leadership within their teams, and will play a role in mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers.

Work includes:

  • Designing and conducting testing procedures and frameworks to verify software and other technical products to ensure expected functional performance
  • Investigating instances where software and technical products do not perform as expected
  • Designing and conducting quality assurance practises to support business development activities
  • Driving the adoption of recognised best practice and policy and contributes to the ongoing improvement of methodologies and assets for the business
  • Working with their counterparts across the business to raise the standard of QA across the bank
  • Recording of defects and the collation of metrics and KPI information for reporting purposes .Testing disciplines include: Performance Testing, Test Automation, Test Processes, Testing Products

Your key responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Accountable for engineering and leading a function in Corporate Bank Technology
  • Deliver state of the art solutions and be a hands-on technologist
  • Implement leading technology advancements in the industry
  • Maintain hygiene, risk, control, and stability at the core of every delivery
  • Manage the software development life cycle (SDLC) of software components all the way to production, including helping support the application to resolve production issues with appropriate triaging
  • Partner with UI/UX Design Team, Architects, Business Analysts, and Stakeholders situated in multiple regions and time-zones at varying capacity to understand requirements

Your skills and experience

Skills You'll Need:

  • A minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in development
  • 4+ years of experience in supporting production issues L2/L3
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Release management process
  • Several years of experience developing and/or testing Java based Microservices (preferably using Spring Boot framework) in a cloud environment (preferably Google Cloud)
  • Application development experience using Agile Methodology
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins and TeamCity are preferred
  • Sound understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Enhance the reliability, scalability, and security of banking systems
  • Demonstrated ability to perform 3rd level support as the developed components move to production
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to optimize application performance and resilience
  • 6+ years of experience in RDMS
  • Several years of backend development experience for databases, API's using SoapUI, Postman and UI experience for React components
  • Establish SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to measure and improve system reliability
  • Automation experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and alerting processes using CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud technologies
  • Minimize development effort using AI features.
  • Drive cost optimization and cloud strategies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to improve operational efficiency
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews to mitigate system failures.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, risk management policies, and security best practices
