Your impact
Job Purpose
To lead and manage all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration for construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency, compliance with standards, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Management & Estimation
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs (Bills of Quantities), and tender documents.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for projects.
- Monitor project budgets and provide regular cost reports.
- Contract Administration
- Manage contracts, variations, and claims in line with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
- Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to optimize costs.
- Project Coordination
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to align financial planning with technical execution.
- Conduct site visits to verify progress and ensure cost control measures are implemented.
- Provide guidance to junior QS staff and support their professional development.
- Risk & Value Engineering
- Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Apply value engineering principles to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Here's what you'll need
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., RICS, ICES, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
- Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Candy, MS Excel).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
