The Role
We are looking for a Senior Engineer Projects & Design who can independently own the engineering delivery of large-scale solar projects from design documentation through client approvals and specialist consultant coordination. This is a hands-on execution role. The role demands both technical depth and the communication discipline to drive deliverables across multiple parallel workstreams without being chased.
Key Responsibilities
Project Design & Documentation
- Prepare and review Design Basis Reports, structural and civil calculations, buoyancy and weight schedules
- Develop and maintain project drawing registers, comment resolution sheets (CRS), and document transmittals
- Review deliverables from external structural, civil, and marine engineering consultants before client submission
Client & Regulatory Interface
- Independently respond to design comments from PSU clients, PMCs, and regulatory bodies
- Manage drawing submissions through client document management portals; track approval status and drive closure
- Prepare CRS responses and coordinate re-submissions within client-mandated timelines
- Liaise with third-party vetting agencies as part of the statutory approval process
Consultant & Subcontractor Coordination
- Act as primary technical interface with specialist consultants/contractors(structural, FEA, marine engineering, civil subcontractors)
- Proactively track open items and drive closure flag blockers early, do not wait to be chased
Requirements
Essential
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; M.Tech preferred
- 512 years in solar or renewable energy EPC with a design and engineering focus
- Demonstrated experience independently managing drawing reviews and comment resolution with PSU or government clients (SECI, NTPC, BHEL, GAIL, or equivalent)
- Ability to draft and submit technical responses without supervision
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of civil and structural design documentation standards
- Strong written English most client communication in this role is email-based
Preferred but not a barrier to applying
- Prior experience on a floating solar project
- Familiarity with document management portals used by major PSUs in the power sector
- Exposure to third-party structural or stability vetting processes
- Any background in solar, marine, coastal, or water-body civil engineering
- Experience coordinating FEA or structural stability analysis with external consultants
