Position: (Senior) Engineer, Power Systems Analytics

ZEG India continues to grow rapidly and is seeking a candidate to support our power systems analytics services. As a core member of the team, the ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, personable, and professionally driven, with a strong interest in contributing to ZEG's mission of decarbonizing the power grid. The candidate is expected to bring subject-matter expertise in transmission and generation planning, along with a solid understanding of power market dynamics and North American stakeholder processes.
What You'll Do
Support the execution of technical services, including grid-wide load-flow contingency analyses for generation and large-load projects, generation deliverability analyses, and preparation of interconnection application packages for large loads in compliance with applicable interconnection requirements
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of North America regional transmission, generation, and large-load planning processes, applicable NERC planning standards, and relevant regional business manuals, handbooks, and procedures
Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders, including providing status updates, responding to inquiries, and representing ZEG in external stakeholder meetings
Prepare high-quality technical deliverables, including technical reports, white papers, and presentations
Participate in industry forums and thought-leadership activities to stay current with emerging trends and best practices
Foster innovation and creative problem-solving to address industry challenges with effective and efficient solutions
Develop or modify automation scripts to improve the efficiency of grid-wide simulations
Contribute to the team's research and innovation initiatives, including the development of new analytical tools and techniques
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in electrical power systems engineering (Ph.D. preferred)
Demonstrated hands-on experience with at least one of the following tools: PSSE, PowerWorld, PowerGEM TARA, or GE PSLF
Demonstrated understanding of North American transmission, generation, or large-load planning processes and standards
Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience performing grid-wide simulations using commercial software tools for North American or European power markets
Strong attention to detail
Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
