Job Summary
Strong knowledge of:
- Piping codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, JIS)
- P&IDs and piping layouts
- Isometric drawings and spool fabrication practices
Familiarity With
- MTO/METO preparation tools
- Clash detection processes
Proficiency in engineering tools/software (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks, Aveva E3D)
Key Responsibilities
- Detailed Engineering Execution
- Lead and perform detailed piping design activities from FEED handover through IFC issuance.
- Develop and review:
- Piping General Arrangement (GA) drawings
- Isometrics and spool drawings
- Support details
- Ensure design reflects process requirements, line classes, and project standards.
- 3D Model Development & Review
- Oversee and validate 3D model development (E3D / PDMS / Navisworks).
- Conduct detailed model reviews to ensure:
- Accurate routing and layout
- Proper clearances and accessibility
- Compliance with safety and maintenance requirements
- Manage clash detection closure and ensure model integrity before drawing extraction.
- Spool & Isometric Validation
- Perform in-depth review of fabrication-level deliverables:
- Spool break logic
- Weld locations and joint numbering
- Field vs shop fabrication split
- Ensure drawings are fully fabrication-ready and installation-friendly.
- P&ID and Line Data Consistency
- Ensure strict alignment between:
- P&IDs
- Line lists
- 3D model and isometrics
Key Requirements
- Typically, 8-15 years of experience in piping engineering/design with strong exposure to Detailed design (EPC projects and Fabrication and construction support.
- Proven experience handling IFC deliverables.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other related discipline.
