Job Description

Cradlepoint is seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Engineer - IP (Multivendor - Switch & Router) to join our Managed Services department. This critical role directly contributes to our ongoing Cradlepoint Operations Engine projects. You will be at the forefront of tech-driven change, offering your specialist knowledge to guide the entire lifecycle of our projects, from creation and sustainment to evolution within your domain.

What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities

  • Actively supervise ITSM Ticket queues to maintain Mean Time To Restore (MTTR).
  • Apply strong analytical skills, including logical thinking, problem-solving, and handling assignments.
  • Identify root cause of P2/P3/P4 Incidents and recommend appropriate resolution actions and other events that customers identify as requiring Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Serve as the first point of contact for support of any alarm/event/KPI related issues.
  • Ensure monitoring with GCP and Cloud Connect links.
  • Maintain close collaboration with the Field Team for all field activities (Hardware failures, Node unreachable, etc.).
  • Ensure timely restoration of Services and maintain MTTR for good customer experience & high Service Availability to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Demonstrate proactive involvement to detect possible failures to ensure incident restoration/avoidance whenever engaged by an Incident Manager or MS Automated Service Function.
  • Perform node health checks and backups, and troubleshoot any identified deviations.
  • Share details for MIR (Major Incident Review) & CSR (Customer Service Request) to respective teams.
  • Possess an end-to-end network understanding.

The Skills You Bring: Required Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience in the IP Domain.
  • Good knowledge in IP Networking Protocols like OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, LDP, L2VPN, L3VPN, BFD.
  • Understanding of Switching protocols including VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VRRP, HSRP.
  • Telecom knowledge (2G, 3G, 4G Service Flow & Interfaces).
  • Experience with Cloud, preferably Cloud-Connect or GCP.
  • Product/Vendor knowledge on at least two of the following: Ericsson/Nokia/Cisco/Juniper/Huawei/F5.
  • Good communication & troubleshooting skills.
