Senior Engineer - Instrumentation & Controls

Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) & Hazard Analysis

• Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks in the system.
• Perform Susceptibility Analysis and Software Hazard Analysis to assess risks associated with software and hardware systems.

Control Logic Development

• Develop Ovation logic controls and HMI systems in DCS/PLC according to customer requirements.
• Design and implement Ovation graphics based on P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and graphic specifications.
• Develop and maintain Ovation Database I/O for efficient data exchange.

System and Documentation

• Review functional requirements, create System Design Specifications, and generate Requirement Traceability Matrices.
• Capture functional requirements from design documents and ensure proper implementation in the system.
• Create technical reports that document findings, solutions, and design modifications.

Testing and Validation

• OPAL testing for control logic and HMI systems.
• Create test documents and control test cases/instructions for logic and graphics testing.
• Perform detailed testing of logic and graphics to ensure full system functionality.

Engineering Calculations and Documentation

• Perform power, weight, and heat load calculations, and document findings.
• Conduct combustibility analysis to ensure system safety and compliance.
• Assist with hardware engineering, including cabinet layout and wiring diagrams.

System Engineering & Collaboration

• Work with stakeholders and discipline engineers to understand and implement design interfaces in the assigned project.
• Follow the defined QC processes to ensure that all work meets quality requirements.

Learning and Productivity

• Stay updated with new design tools and techniques; adapt and be flexible in working on different projects.
• Work to meet productivity benchmarks and ensure timely project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Ovation control systems, PLC/DCS programming, and HMI graphics development.
• Strong background in FMEA, hazard analysis, and system testing.
• Hands-on experience with control logic development, testing documentation, and system specifications.

Desired Technical Skills

• Ovation Logic Controls development and HMI graphics.
• Proficiency in Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, Visio for drawings, and AutoCAD for engineering drawings.
• Strong experience with Word and Excel for documentation and analysis.
