Senior Engineer - Design

Key Accountabilities/Duties & Responsibilities:

• Understand product requirements and develop solutions and concept designs for different subsystems such as Chassis, Suspension, Accessories, Brakes, etc.
• Design components and assemblies in 3D CAD software (Solidworks or CATIA) and generate 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Perform engineering calculations and formulate boundary conditions for FEA simulations.
• Be aware of manufacturing methods and understand fabrication fundamentals and practical aspects.
• Prepare design documentation like DVP, DFMEA.
• Prepare guidelines for structural and durability testing of components and systems, and work closely with validation engineers to set up test procedures and rigs.
• Work closely with internal teams to get engineering prototypes made as per design specifications.
• Collaborate with the NPD team to ensure timely completion of prototype part readiness.

Essential Qualifications and Specific Skills/Competencies Required:

• Education: B. Tech or M. Tech in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering
• Experience: 3 to 6 years in the automotive industryProficiency in Solidworks for both 2D and 3D CAD
• Knowledge of 2/4-wheeler chassis components/accessories design
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Understanding of materials and their selection
• Experience in simulation packages for FEA (ANSYS/Hyperworks) and MBD (ADAMS/MotionSolve) is a plus
• Past Formula Student or Baja SAE experience is a plus
• Experience in Product Lifecycle Management and Six Sigma processes is a plus
• Experience in the 2-wheeler industry preferred
