Job Description

  • Site Supervision and Management:
  • Supervise the execution of all civil engineering works on-site, including foundations, access roads, drainage, and other infrastructure.
  • Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure that construction works align with engineering designs and safety standards.
  • Inspect construction materials, equipment, and methods to verify they meet the project's technical and quality requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable construction practices.
  • Coordination and Liaison:
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure civil engineering works are progressing according to the project schedule.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, and environmental engineers) to ensure integration of all work on-site.
  • Act as a point of contact for client representatives and stakeholders regarding civil engineering issues.
  • Quality Control and Assurance:
  • Monitor construction activities and perform inspections to ensure the quality of work complies with the project specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct field tests (e.g., soil compaction, concrete strength, and other material tests) to validate the performance and integrity of civil structures.
  • Address any quality-related issues immediately and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and local regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Carry out regular safety audits and inspections to prevent accidents or hazards on-site.
  • Ensure all civil works comply with legal, environmental, and regulatory standards, obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
  • Site Progress Monitoring:
  • Track the progress of civil works against project timelines and report any delays, issues, or deviations to project management.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly progress reports detailing the status of civil engineering activities.
  • Provide feedback on site conditions and identify potential improvements or modifications needed for smoother project execution.
  • Material and Equipment Management:
  • Assist in managing construction materials and resources on-site, ensuring timely procurement and delivery.
  • Monitor and verify the quality and quantity of materials received and used for civil works.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.
  • Problem Solving and Issue Resolution:
  • Identify and resolve on-site civil engineering problems that may arise during construction, including design discrepancies, material shortages, or technical challenges.
  • Suggest solutions to mitigate any issues that could affect project deadlines or budgets.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all civil engineering activities, including completed work, inspections conducted, and material usage.
  • Submit detailed site reports and daily logs to the project manager, highlighting progress, challenges, and any discrepancies or changes.
  • Ensure proper documentation for project handovers and any post-construction inspections or audits.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engage with local authorities, environmental agencies, and other relevant stakeholders as necessary to ensure smooth approvals and compliance.
  • Participate in regular project meetings to update the team on site progress and any challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., licensed engineer or equivalent).
  • 2-8 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in renewable energy projects (solar, wind).
  • Familiarity with construction management, project scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Proficient in civil design and construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in construction.
