Senior Draftsman

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the creation of detailed, accurate technical drawings, schematics, and plans using CAD software (e. g. , AutoCAD, Revit).
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure designs meet client specifications and industry standards.
• Review and approve drafts and technical drawings prepared by junior draftsmen, providing guidance and feedback for improvement.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to regulatory requirements, building codes, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of drawings and plans.
• Prepare as-built drawings, revisions, and updates to existing designs based on project changes or feedback.
• Maintain and organize project drawing archives and ensure proper documentation.
• Stay updated on new technologies, software, and industry trends to continually improve drafting practices.
• Provide technical support and training to junior draftsmen and other team members.

Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Extensive experience in drafting with proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc. ).
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction processes, and design standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce precise and error-free drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a draftsman, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Experience in the specific industry (e. g. , construction, civil engineering) is highly preferred.
