Job Overview:
Battery Smart is looking for a senior leader to build and scale end-to-end product and supply chain systems in a fast-growing, asset-heavy network. This role owns how products are conceived, sourced, moved, validated, and continuously improved at scalebalancing cost, reliability, speed, and quality in a highly dynamic environment. You will work at the intersection of product development, supply chain, procurement, and quality, designing systems that can scale with the business. We are open to leaders from diverse sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure, energy, consumer, or platform businessesespecially those who are strong first-principle thinkers, system builders, and fast learners.
What You Will Do:
Product Development & System Design
Lead the end-to-end development of complex physical productsfrom problem definition and design trade-offs to validation, scaling, and lifecycle management.
Define clear product principles, decision frameworks, and stage-gates to balance performance, cost, reliability, and scalability.
Collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, and operations teams to translate business needs into robust product and system designs.
Establish and refine testing and validation protocols to ensure reliability and scalability before network-wide deployment.
Stay ahead of relevant technology and market trends to inform product and system evolution. (Products may include energy storage systems, charging infrastructure, and network hardware.)
Logistics & Supply Chain
Design and scale supply chain and logistics systems that work reliably under uncertainty, rapid growth, and operational complexity.
Optimize cost, lead times, asset availability, and network reliability through thoughtful system designnot just execution.
Partner with operations teams to ensure supply chain processes are grounded in real-world constraints and execution realities.
Build forecasting, demand planning, and tracking mechanisms that improve decision-making and visibility across the network.
Define clear metrics, dashboards, and operating rhythms to manage performance at scale.
Procurement & Vendor Development
Build and manage strategic partnerships with critical suppliers across components, manufacturing, and technologyboth domestic and international.
Develop procurement strategies that balance cost efficiency, quality, resilience, and long-term scalability.
Lead contract negotiation, contract management, and warranty frameworks with key partners. Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks, including geopolitical, environmental, and operational factors.
Drive BOM benchmarking and optimization for high-value products and systems.
Work closely with finance to align procurement strategies with budgets, cost targets, and cash-flow discipline.
Quality & Reliability
Establish quality as a system, embedded across product design, supplier selection, operations, and feedback loops.
Define and track clear KPIs for quality, performance, and defect resolution in collaboration with internal teams and partners.
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or reliability issues.
Maintain strong audit, documentation, and governance processes to ensure safety, performance, and compliance.
What You Will Need
8+ years of experience building and scaling complex products, supply chains, or operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven ability to design and run systems in environments with high operational and execution complexity.
Strong first-principle thinker who can break down ambiguous problems and design practical, scalable solutions.
Demonstrated leadership and team-building capability across cross-functional and external stakeholders.
High learning agilitycomfortable stepping into new technical domains and building conviction quickly.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a bias toward data-driven problem solving.
Prior exposure to hardware, manufacturing, energy, or electro-mechanical systems is a plus, but not required.
Bachelor's degree required. Engineering, operations, or business education is helpful, but demonstrated capability matters more than specific credentials.
Who Will Thrive Here
You enjoy building systems where none exist and improving them relentlessly.
You are comfortable making decisions with imperfect information and owning outcomes.
You can move fluidly between strategy and execution without losing clarity.
You care deeply about quality, cost, and reliabilityand understand the trade-offs between them.
