In this role, you will:
- Drive the vision, roadmap and priorities for Samsara s Platform teams.
- Ensure high technical standards through both processes and the culture you instill.
- Mentor and grow engineering managers and staff/senior engineers.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 10+ years of industry experience in software engineering/development.
- 7+ years of engineering management experience.
- A track record of building high-performing software teams.
- Willingness to dive-deep and solve challenging technical problems.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience managing managers and teams of 40+ engineers.
- A customer-focused mindset and good product sense.
- 5+ years of experience in SaaS software development roles.
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Experience with best practices around testing, monitoring, and SLAs to ensure high product quality in large-scale distributed web services.
