Role Summary
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining highly available systems and ensuring smooth, reliable application deployments. You will work closely with development and operations teams to implement best-in-class DevOps practices, including proactive monitoring, automated alerting, and self-healing mechanisms. You will also help implement cutting-edge tools to automate infrastructure and streamline processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Architect Scalable & Reliable Systems
- Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as EKS, EC2, S3, and RDS.
- Manage multiple environments (prod/uat/stg/dev )and applications housed in different EKS & ECS clusters.
- Strong experience in performing technical RCAs and ability to design systems and take technical trade off decisions
- Infrastructure Automation & Optimization
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Automate provisioning, scaling, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure (EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, etc.).
- CI/CD Pipeline Development
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline and Github Actions for applications built with PHP, Java, Node.js, Next.js, and React.js.
- Ensure continuous integration and deployment workflows with automated testing and validation.
- Proactive Monitoring & Self-Healing Systems (SRE)
- Architect and implement proactive monitoring using ELK Stack, New Relic, and AWS CloudWatch for real-time system visibility.
- Develop self-healing systems to automatically resolve server failures, application crashes, or service downtimes
- Cloud Management
- Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure in a multi account setup
- Strong hands on core AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECS, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, Opensearch, Lambda and SNS.
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure DevSecOps implementation in the CI/CD
- Manage security of the complete infrastructure including Cloud, Application & Web firewalls against DDOS etc. attacks
- Ensure systems are complaint to PCI, SOC-1 etc. compliances
- Database & Search Services
- Work with databases such as Elasticsearch and MariaDB.
- Manage indexing and search services like Algolia to ensure efficient query performance and data integrity.
- Cross-Team Leadership
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate DevOps processes across the organization.
- Lead DevOps best practices for infrastructure management, deployment, monitoring, and security.
- Performance Engineering
- Designs systems that are performance first by using technologies and approaches like caching, rapid scaling etc.
- Use Fastly CDN to optimize content delivery and improve website performance.
- Cost Optimization
- Design cost-effective cloud architectures while maintaining high performance.
- Implement efficient resource-scaling strategies based on traffic patterns.
- Continuous Improvement
- Promote DevOps culture by driving automation, code quality, and collaboration.
- Stay updated on emerging DevOps trends and technologies, suggesting improvements to existing systems.
- Ability of utilising AI ChatBots and Agents to automate tasks, monitor and build self healing systems (AIOps)
- Collaboration
- Work closely with developers to ensure seamless integration between development and operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
Job Requirements
- Educational Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in DevOps & CloudOps, with a strong focus on high-transaction, microservices-based systems.
Technical Skills
- Experience setting up and maintaining DevOps infrastructure for applications handling hundreds of transactions per second.
- Strong expertise with AWS services (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, SNS, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, New Relic, ELK Stack).
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation.
- Proficiency with Fastly CDN or similar content delivery networks
- Strong understanding of Linux system administration.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MariaDB, Elasticsearch, MongoDB).
- Knowledge of APM tools such as New Relic for performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.).
