Senior Devops Engineer

What We Are Looking For -

We are looking for an experienced DevOps (L4/L5/L6) with 5–12 years of hands-on experience

architecting, building, and operating production-grade cloud infrastructure at scale.This is not a tooling maintenance or pipeline management role — you will own critical infrastructure systems,design for reliability and scalability, and enable seamless, high-velocity deployment workflows across complex multi-service, multi-environment architectures.

GCP expertise is mandatory. You will design and operate Kubernetes clusters, build full IaC

coverage, manage GPU and AI compute infrastructure, own the observability stack, and lead

incident response from detection through to preventive resolution.

Collaboration with engineering, ML, and data teams is a core part of the role — you will shape infrastructure decisions that affect every team at JBIQ.

A prior background in software engineering or systems programming is a strong advantage. You

should be comfortable writing automation scripts, reviewing application deployment

configurations, and engaging in technical architecture discussions without needing things

simplified.

This role is ideal for someone who treats infrastructure as a product — one that

engineering teams depend on, and one that must continuously improve in reliability,

performance, and cost efficiency.

• 5–13 years of overall experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, with

hands-on ownership of production systems at scale — not just tooling maintenance or

ticket-driven operations.

• Deep, hands-on expertise with GCP (mandatory) — GKE, Cloud Run, GCS, BigQuery,

Pub/Sub, VPC, IAM, Secret Manager, Cloud Monitoring, and Artifact Registry; AWS

experience is a strong additional advantage.

• Production-grade Kubernetes expertise: cluster lifecycle management, multi-cluster

networking, autoscaling architectures, and workload isolation — not just kubernetes

familiarity.

• Strong IaC ownership: Terraform or Pulumi at module scale, with experience managing

state backends, workspace strategies, and automated apply pipelines in a team

environment

• Demonstrated experience building or significantly improving CI/CD pipelines for

high-velocity, multi-service environments — including GitOps workflows and environment

promotion strategies.

• Hands-on experience provisioning and operating GPU compute for ML workloads

— training clusters, inference serving, spot instance handling, and cost optimisation

• Strong observability engineering skills: metrics, logs, traces, alerting — you build

observability into systems from the start, not as an afterthought.

• Track record of leading production incident response, driving RCAs to completion, and

following through on systemic fixes with measurable reliability improvement

• Demonstrated ability to stand up 0-to-1 infrastructure platforms in fast-paced,

resource-constrained environments — you create structure and automation where none

previously existed

• High technical curiosity — you track the infrastructure and cloud-native ecosystem

actively, evaluate new

• Comfort operating in ambiguity and high velocity — JBIQ moves fast and expects its

platform engineers to prioritise ruthlessly, communicate infrastructure risk clearly, and

drive stability without slowing delivery

• Working proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language — Python

(preferred), Node.js, or Java — for automation, tooling, and infrastructure utilities; this is

not primarily a coding role but technical depth matters

• Candidates whose DevOps experience is primarily managing CI/CD pipelines or

configuring monitoring dashboards without meaningful infrastructure ownership,

Kubernetes depth, or AI/GPU compute experience will not clear the bar for this

role.
