Timely delivery of DHL packages around the globe in a way that ensures customer data is secure is in the core of what we do. You will provide third-level day-to-day platform support, and lead the performance, security, capacity, availability related initiatives, and assist investigate and resolve the incidents by working closely with Servicenow or upstream/downstream integrated ITS application teams. Sometimes, issues might get complicated, and this is where cooperation on troubleshooting with development teams and specialists will come into play. When it comes to business process, data security and other issues related to our technologies, communicating with our vendors is key.or any issues related to Servicenow functions or processes within DHL Express, you are our superhero. The same applies when it comes to managing, proposing and implementing all necessary changes to production in all ECASE Servicenow environments, providing global availability to key DHL Express services.

The Senior DevOps Engineer is part of the DevOps engineering programs to ensure proper scope definition, prioritization, planning, and assigning work activities. He or she must effectively communicate with our development and operations team to orchestrate the creation of solutions and be able to coach, mentor, and proactively support existing team members. The key is the knowledge of agile methodologies like SCRUM.
Having ServiceNow is a huge plus. Very good knowledge of Servicenow infrastructure, Integration (ie: LDAP), scripting, security, Access control, CSM module and Servicenow platform knowledge is an integral part of this role.
You are a technology aficionado, therefore, you have a good understanding of Mid servers, Performance analytics, SOAP/REST transactions, and platform health & security improvement skils. You are able to work independently, prioritize, and organize your tasks under time and workload pressure. Working in a multinational environment, you can expect cross-region collaboration with teams around the globe, thus being advanced in spoken and written English will be certainly be useful.
Key activities:
Primarily involve presenting to or influencing business partner representatives or vendors on resolving issues of greater significance, often requiring coordination between organizational units
Conducting reviews with business partners to establish their requirements and prioritize the requirements in accordance with agreed criteria. Presenting concepts and proposals, and providing updates on deliverables; negotiating issue resolution when needed
Within own area of competence, provides correct responses to requests for support by means of, for example: developing workarounds or site-specific enhancements, reconfiguring systems, helping to implement changes to operating procedures, training users or operations staff, producing additional documentation, or escalating requests.
Has solid knowledge of Servicenow, services and DHL Express business processes. Can use business knowledge and market data to develop solutions and establish clear priorities for actions to increase the performance of the product. Is able to contribute to strategic discussions with business partners/customers. Aware of and can proactively adapt to formal and informal decision-making processes within the supported business.
Provides advice, assistance and leadership associated with the planning, design, and improvement of service and component development, including the investigation of all breaches of availability or performance targets and service non-availability, with the instigation of remedial activities. Plans arrangements for disaster recovery together with supporting processes and manages the testing of such plans.
Assesses and analyses release components. Provides input to scheduling. Carries out the builds and tests in coordination with testers and component specialists, maintaining and administering the tools and methods manual or automatic - and ensuring, where possible, information exchange with configuration management. Ensures release processes and procedures are maintained.
Investigates b data requirements, and applies data analysis, data modelling and quality assurance techniques, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). Provides advice and guidance to database designers and others using the data structures and associated components.
Sets local or team-based standards for programming tools and techniques, advises on their application and ensures compliance. Takes technical responsibility for all stages in the software development process. Prepares project and quality plans and advises systems development teams. Assigns work packages to technical staff, monitors performance and reports progress. Provides advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.
Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs. Delivers technical visualisation of proposed applications for approval by customer and execution by system developers. Translates logical designs into physical designs, and produces detailed design documentation. Maps work to user specification and removes errors and deviations from specification to achieve user-friendly processes.
Accepts responsibility for creation of test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability). Creates traceability records, from test cases back to requirements. Produces test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services. Specifies requirements for environment, data, resources and tools. Interprets, executes and documents complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards. Records and analyses actions and results, and maintains a defect register. Reviews test results and modifies tests if necessary. Provides reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with the overall project. Reports on system quality and collects metrics on test cases. Provides specialist advice to support others.
