Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Power BI Developer to join our team and lead the design, development, and implementation of Power BI solutions that provide actionable insights to drive business decisions.

This role requires not only deep technical expertise in Power BI but also leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of developers, ensure best practices, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing large-scale Power BI projects, optimizing report performance, and implementing advanced analytics features.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, development, and deployment of Power BI report dashboards and interactive visualizations.
2. Integrate Power BI with various data sources, including cloud platforms, relational databases, and APIs.
3. Utilize advanced Power BI features such as DAX, Power Query, and custom visuals to create interactive and scalable reports.
4. Use Power BI for advanced analytics including forecasting, what-if scenarios, and machine learning model integration.
5. Create advanced map visualizations and geospatial analytics using Power BIs integration with Bing Maps and ArcGIS.
6. Optimize Power BI reports for performance by improving data refresh times and reducing load times.
7. Implement role-level security (RLS) to restrict data access based on user roles and business requirements.
8. Ensure data governance and compliance by integrating with Azure Active Directory for user management and applying data access policies.
9. Direct the use of machine learning models and custom visuals in Power BI for more in-depth analysis and decision-making.
10. Integrate Power BI with other Microsoft tools, such as Power Automate, Power Apps, and Azure Synapse, for end-to-end analytics solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related fields.
• 8+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer, with at least 3 years in a lead Developer role.
• Expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and custom visual development.
• Strong experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and SQL-based systems.
• Deep understanding of Power's advanced analytics features, including forecasting, AI integration, and machine learning models.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale Power BI projects, performance optimization, and data modelling.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI integration with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and enterprise systems.

Preferred Skills: ADDED ADVANTAGE AND NOT A MUST.

• Certification in Power BI or Microsoft Data Analytics.
• Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Looker.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R for enhanced analytics.
• Experience with Power BI Embedded and API integrations.
• Knowledge of industry-specific compliance and security standards.
