Job Title: Senior Hardware Design Engineer (Motor Drives & Power Electronics)

Location: Bangalore

Experience Level: 68 Years

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Hardware Design Engineer to spearhead the development of next-generation power electronics and motor control platforms. You will own the full hardware lifecyclefrom initial concept and schematic capture in Altium to EMC compliance and manufacturing support. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in switch-mode power supply (SMPS) topologies and the nuances of high-efficiency motor control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Architect and design robust hardware platforms for motor drive applications, including power stages, gate drivers, and control circuitry.
  • Schematic & Layout: Execute high-quality schematic capture and PCB design in Altium; manage component libraries and revision control.
  • Performance Optimization: Conduct rigorous motor tuning, optimize power stage dynamics, and perform thermal/efficiency analysis.
  • Compliance & Validation: Lead internal and external validation for EMC, safety, and regulatory standards (IEC/ISO/EN). Own the creation of comprehensive test reports and design documentation.
  • BOM & Costing: Perform strategic component selection, cost optimization, and cross-referencing to ensure supply chain resilience.
  • Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with quality and manufacturing teams to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on field/production failures and implement design-for-manufacturability (DFM) improvements.

Technical Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Power Electronics: Proven expertise in topologies including Buck/Boost, Fly-back, Cuk, SEPIC, LLC, and Forward Converters.
  • Motor Control: Practical experience with BLDC and PMSM motors; deep understanding of FOC (Field Oriented Control) and Vector Control algorithms.
  • Magnetics: Proficiency in transformer and inductor design tailored for power conversion.
  • Simulation & Tools: Hands-on experience with PSpice for circuit simulation and Altium Designer for PCB/Schematic development.
  • Compliance: Practical knowledge of testing protocols for ISO, EN, and AIS standards.
  • Lab Proficiency: Expert use of Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers, and electronic loads.

  • Ownership: A self-starter capable of driving projects from requirements analysis to mass production with minimal oversight.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional firmware, mechanical, and quality assurance teams.
