Senior Design Engineer - Core Technology Engineered Solutions (ED1)

Your role

Mission:

Join our vacuum technique - mechanical design team as a key contributor who plays a pivotal role in delivering innovative and high-quality engineering solutions for internal customers. Your mission involves leading and executing various complex projects that align with our quality benchmarks and operational timelines, ensuring top-tier results that echo our commitment to excellence.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will rigorously adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout project lifecycles. Your expertise will guide the internal team through project execution phases, enabling the successful delivery of design projects within the scope of GECIA's processes, organizational structure, and quality standards.

Project Execution Responsibilities:

• Comprehensively study project briefs and collate data from prior GECIA initiatives to inform design strategies.
• Design and virtually develop machinery components in accordance with Atlas Copco and client-specific standards, applying your technical mastery to ensure compliance and innovation.
• Iterate and modify design drawings based on critical feedback from team leadership and clients, maintaining flexibility and responsiveness.
• Conduct on-site visits to manufacturing units to address and resolve technical challenges during prototype production phases.
• Manage project workload by monitoring daily resource utilization, promptly escalating deviations to Project Leaders to adhere to delivery schedules and quality assurance.

Status Reporting and Client Engagement:

• Collaborate closely with Project Leaders to provide comprehensive data aiding the resolution of customer technical queries spanning levels 1 through 3.
• Facilitate effective communication with customers to resolve complex engineering questions, reinforcing client satisfaction and trust.
• Prepare and disseminate weekly status reports that transparently update both internal teams and external stakeholders on project progression and milestones.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement stringent quality checks on both personal and team outputs to maintain adherence to our First Time Right policy, ensuring deliverables are free from errors and meet exacting quality requirements.

Project Closure Duties:

• Complete all closure formalities by preparing necessary documentation including project completion reports and ISO-compliant records to validate compliance and record-keeping.

Additional Contributions:

Actively engage in tasks or assignments delegated by senior leadership, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to support team objectives and broader organizational goals.

To succeed, you will need

• A Bachelor of Engineering degree with a minimum of 4 years experience executing projects within engineering or product-focused environments.
• Knowledge in designing skid packages for compressors and dryers, as well as expertise in sheet metal work, piping design, and heavy fabrication is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with vacuum pump technology and international standards such as ASME, CE, and API enriches your profile.
• Industry experience in Oil & Gas is considered an advantage.
• Proficiency in software such as Inventor & Vault, 3DX, AutoCAD 2017, and MS Office 2016 is important.
• Personal attributes like strong analytical skills, systematic working methods, excellent interpersonal abilities, teamwork orientation, mentoring capability, and project management aptitude are crucial.
• Willingness and flexibility to undertake international travel for project-specific assignments.
