Position Overview

Job Title: Senior DBA, AVP

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Description

Engineer is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments.

Work includes:

• Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals
• Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions
• Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow
• Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability
• Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.

Your key responsibilities

• Responsible for managing Prod and non-prod Oracle databases, write code /queries in SQL, mentor team's work,
• Guide team with Query performance issues.
• Experience of working in a development team environment as well as globally distributed project team
• Responsible for end-to-end database user management and Implement security measures for the database.
• Understand the Application and writing adhoc SQL queries /database code for the business requirement, if any need arises.
• Ensures all code changes are tracked and recorded through the groups change management process as Change Items (CIs)
• Provides Release Deployments on Production and non-Production Management controlled environments
• Performs technical change requests scheduled according to Release Management processes
• Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity.
• Collaborates with Functional Analysts and QA to complete work, as required.
• Reviews and mentor's other developers in developing solutions which perform to expected results and handle negative test case scenarios
• Provides Level 3 support
• Contributes to root cause/problem analysis and solution brainstorming
• Collaborates with Infrastructure leads, Functional Analysts and QA to complete work, as required.
• Create required documentation for the project.

Your skills and experience

• Strong experience with Oracle Database and SQL Performance Tuning as per Application requirement
• Experience with database design, administration, and maintenance in Oracle database environments.
• Oracle Exadata/Exacc knowledge will be preferred
• Good Knowledge of Oracle features and Strong experience in Oracle Administration on various environments (Linux, windows) , Oracle database monitoring
• Knowledge in shell scripting language
• Knowledge in scheduling tools (control-M, Autosys, Cron, etc) SQL, PL/SQL
• OS: Windows, Linux
• Database: Oracle
• Languages : SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting
• Tools: GIT, SQL Developer, dbVisualizer
