DB2 Database Administration - LUW
- Install, configure, and upgrade Db2 instances and fix packs.
- Manage database objects (tablespaces, indexes, views, triggers, etc.).
- Manage user access, roles, and security policies.
- Apply patches, version upgrades, and monitor health.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
- Analyze and tune SQL queries, buffer pools, and memory allocation.
- Optimize storage usage and improve query execution plans.
- Monitor and resolve locking and contention issues.
- Use db2expln, db2advis, MON_GET, and db2pd tools.
Backup & Recovery
- Design and implement backup strategies (online/offline, incremental, full).
- Manage HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery) and log shipping.
- Perform point-in-time recovery and disaster recovery simulations.
Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor system health using scripts, db2top, db2mon, or DMC.
- Automate maintenance tasks (REORG, RUNSTATS, backup).
- Set up alerts and logs for CPU, memory, I/O, and Db2-specific thresholds.
Linux OS Integration
- Tune Linux kernel parameters for Db2 (e.g., file descriptors, huge pages).
- Monitor disk I/O, memory usage, and CPU loads.
- Manage cron jobs for DB scripts and maintenance routines.
Good at Debugging.
Interested in a Part-Time or Full-Time role.
