Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Developer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-grade databases using Microsoft SQL Server. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience with MS Excel and MS Access, particularly in building data models, reports, and automation tools that support business operations.

Job Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and functions.

Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.

Develop and maintain Excel-based tools and reports using advanced formulas, pivot tables, and VBA macros.

Modernize legacy MS Access applications and migrate data to SQL Server where appropriate.

Collaborate with application developers to support integrations and data pipelines.

Implement data governance, security, and backup strategies.

Document database architecture, workflows, and technical specifications.

Provide mentorship to junior developers and contribute to code reviews and best practices.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in database development using SQL Server.

Proficiency in T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

Strong experience with MS Excel (including VBA) and MS Access.

Familiarity with data migration, ETL processes, and job scheduling.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience with cloud platforms like Azure SQL or AWS RDS.

Knowledge of Power BI, SharePoint, or other reporting tools.

Experience with My SQL

Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Exposure to insurance, consumer benefits, or COBRA domains.
