Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and prevent recurring issues.
- Analyze and optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, and configuration settings. Implement best practices to enhance system efficiency.
- Manage and optimize on-premise SQL Server environments (2019-2022) and Azure SQL Managed Instances, ensuring high performance, security, and availability.
- Administer, maintain, and monitor multiple database environments, ensuring data integrity, security, and high availability.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate database provisioning, deployments, and monitoring. Implement CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
- Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support application development and infrastructure initiatives.
Your Profile

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- More than 5 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure PaaS offerings and services.
- Familiarity with basic DevOps practices and tools such as version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL query optimization and scripting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., Microsoft Azure, database management) are a plus.
