Role & Responsibilities
Database administrator will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL, MSSQL and Oracle instances. He will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances. He will also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.
- Provision and maintain MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations on Cloud environments and Data Center.
- Provision DMS jobs, RDS DB environment on AWS platform
- Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
- Prepare documentations and specifications, ability to understand requirements given and execute flawlessly
- Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, automation etc.
- Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Qualification
B.E / B.Tech / MCA
Experience
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Knowledge of MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL features, such as its event scheduler
- Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
- Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. is preferred
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as, Git/ SVN etc .
- Production setup working experience in AWS
