Job Title: Sr Data Scientist

At Clean Harbors, we are on a quest for a highly skilled and passionate Mid-Level Data Scientist to be a part of our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to dive into complex data challenges, architect both traditional/Gen AI models, and unearth valuable insights that will drive strategic decisions.
As a key member of our innovation team, you will focus on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to deliver solutions that generate revenue and optimize costs. Your contributions will be instrumental in differentiating Clean Harbors in the marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
- Design and implement data-driven solutions using Microsoft Azure's tools and services, such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Azure databases or Fabric implementation. Ensure these solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Develop and implement sophisticated AI models to solve complex business problems. Use these models to generate actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and challenges. Leverage your expertise to provide data-driven AI solutions that address these issues.
- Leverage large volumes of data from various sources to extract meaningful insights. Present these insights in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.
- Drive feedback loop for the models implemented in production using metrics to ensure our whole MLOps pipeline is effective and continuously refreshed with the right data set and algorithms.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, GenAI space and cloud computing.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is required. A bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience would suffice.
- 8 + years working in the IT industry with 4+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and big data technologies. Proven experience in deploying machine learning models into production.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and its suite of data science tools is crucial. This includes but is not limited to Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Services, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and machine learning.
- Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases and Data Fabric architectures.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow or Scikit-learn.
- Knowledge of deep learning and neural networks. Experience with utilizing GenAI LLMs in Python preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
- Ability to translate complex findings into a compelling narrative for non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate will be preferred.
