About the Role
Blue Ridge is building the next generation of demand forecasting systems powered by advanced machine learning and deep learning. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who thrives at the intersection of applied research, software craftsmanship, and real-world impact.
You will work on complex modeling problems involving large-scale, high-dimensional business data. The ideal candidate has strong statistical foundations, hands-on experience with PyTorch, and a desire to build robust and explainable models that scale to production. Strong programming skills and exposure to distributed environments are expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and validate machine learning and deep learning models for structured business data
- Explore large datasets, engineer meaningful features, and identify key drivers of behavior
- Work with distributed training frameworks for scalable model development
- Analyze model behavior, iterate to improve performance, and ensure generalizability
- Build clear, testable, and modular model code with strong attention to reproducibility
- Deploy models into production environments, enabling real-time or batch inference workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Strategy) to align solutions with business priorities
- Work in cloud-based environments (e.g., Databricks, AWS, GCP) to scale training, experimentation, and deployment
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- 58 years of experience in Data Science or Applied Machine Learning
- Strong background in statistics, supervised learning, and applied deep learning
- Mandatory hands-on experience with PyTorch for model development
- Strong programming fundamentals with ability to write clean, modular, testable code
- Experience with distributed training and large-scale datasets
- Experience working in cloud environments such as Databricks, AWS, or GCP
- Ability to build and maintain ML pipelines from data ingestion through to deployment
Desirable Skills (Bonus)
- Familiarity with MLOps workflows (CI/CD, model monitoring, retraining pipelines)
- Exposure to data orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect)
- Experience with containerization and deployment concepts (Docker, APIs, etc.)
- Domain knowledge in retail, e-commerce, or supply chain forecasting
