Tribute Technology is actively seeking a motivated an experienced Senior Data Engineer with expertise in AWS and GCP to join our Data & Analytics team. Our Data & Analytics team drives innovation and excellence by harnessing data to deliver actionable insights across the organization.
As Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading and enhancing our data pipelines, processes and visualizations as well as selecting fit for purpose tools to support our growing business needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong hands-on experience to design, build and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines in AWS and GCP for a datalake environment.
- Define and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure security, integrity and compliance along with optimizing data pipelines for high performance, scalability and cost efficiency in cloud environments (AWS and GCP) and BI tools (Power BI, Looker).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data engineering solutions.
- Design and implement data pipelines and processes to integrate data from various sources into our data ecosystem.
- Improve data observability and ensure the team follows best practices.
- Own data architectures and pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data across the environment.
- Ensure timely resolution for data pipeline issues implementing a monitoring and incident response strategy.
- Implement best practices for data governance, ensuring high data quality, consistency, and security across the data pipelines.
- Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring the team works cross-functionally with business stakeholders to deliver projects effectively.
- Create documentation of the pipelines, maintain data asset documentation and data product documentation to ensure visibility and discoverability of our data products.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical skills and promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Review and weigh in on functional and technical requirements.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or relevant field of study with minimum 7+ years of progressively technology experience.
- Design and implement cloud native data engineering solutions using core technologies in AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, IAM roles/policies and Google Big Query.
- Prior experience in an eCommerce business with high volume data (:1B sessions annually) and integrating data across multiple business units.
- Experience in using GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for code deployment.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling principles and database design patterns.
- Experience in data engineering technologies such as Python, SQL, Spark, batch, real time streaming pipelines, data lakes and data warehouse solutions.
- Implement data ingestion from multiple sources including databases, APIs, and streaming systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance and cost of AWS/GCP data solutions.
- Proven data engineering experience in cloud environments.
- Experience in creating data products and/or data product environment.
