We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of robust data solutions in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. In this role, you will architect and optimize scalable data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes to handle large volumes of healthcare data efficiently. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decisions, support advanced analytics, and develop predictive models that enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes. The position also involves mentoring a team of data engineers, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance, while laying the foundation for future AI-driven initiatives. Accountabilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses to process large healthcare datasets.
- Lead development and deployment of analytics models, including machine learning and predictive models for risk prediction, pricing, and claims optimization.
- Collaborate with IT, business, and vendor teams to translate data insights into actionable strategies improving customer and provider experiences.
- Build and enhance the company's data platform to support analytics, data science, and engineering needs.
- Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and FHIR.
- Mentor and guide data engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Oversee Data Jira boards, tracking progress, assigning responsibilities, and reporting outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, system performance optimization, and adoption of emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams, with 9+ years in building large-scale data systems using AWS or equivalent cloud stacks.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions and roadmaps.
- Experience with data science platforms, machine learning infrastructure, and regulated data management.
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of conveying technical insights to non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on mindset, willing to actively contribute to projects and solutions.
- Experience in startup or fast-paced environments with evolving technical requirements.
