Job Description

Job Title: Professional Services Software Developer

Department: Professional Services InterProse India

Reports To: InterProse India Manager

Location: Hyderabad, India

Position Summary

The Professional Services Software Developer is an individual contributor responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting customer-facing technical solutions that extend and enhance the InterProse platform. This role works closely with customers and internal teams to translate business requirements into effective solutions across reporting, data transformation, and automation, including support for ETL-like pipelines and AWS-based data workflows.

This role focuses on execution, collaboration, and technical problem-solving, helping deliver high-quality development and reliable solutions that drive customer success.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Partnership & Solution Design

  • Collaborate with customers to understand business needs, operational challenges, and enhancement requests
  • Translate customer requirements into effective technical solutions across reporting, data transformation, and automation workflows
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Manage multiple concurrent tasks and deliverables while meeting deadlines and commitments

Technical Execution

  • Design, build, and maintain customer-specific technical solutions with a focus on accuracy, performance, and scalability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform, reporting, and data-related issues
  • Participate in and progressively take ownership of problem-solving efforts, including investigation, root-cause analysis, implementation, and validation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and supporting enhancements to solution patterns, tooling, and documentation
  • Contribute to scalable data processing pipelines and workflow design

Reporting & Data Engineering

  • Build and maintain PostgreSQL-based reporting solutions aligned with customer workflows and requirements
  • Develop custom report formats beyond standard SQL/CSV outputs, including fixed-length files, structured reports with header/footer sections, and Excel-based reports with formatting and formulas
  • Support data transformation processes and contribute to ETL-like pipelines for account loading and large-scale file processing
  • Assist in building data transformation workflows on AWS using services such as S3 and Lambda

Custom Development & Automation

  • Develop and maintain custom job logic using Java and Python for file transformation, data manipulation, and automation
  • Work with job execution systems running within Docker containers and integrate outputs into internal systems via REST APIs
  • Support performance optimization and reliability of solutions under real-world workloads

Cloud, Tools, & Platforms

  • Work within a cloud-based environment leveraging AWS services, including ECS, ECR, S3, and Lambda
  • Support event-driven processing using AWS Lambda for data and workflow automation
  • Gain exposure to AWS data services such as AWS Glue, Redshift/Athena, and Step Functions.
  • Utilize development and debugging tools such as IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio Code, pgAdmin, and Git-based version control
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage modern development ecosystems and AI-assisted coding tools such as Bitbucket, Jira, Codex, and Claude Code to accelerate delivery and improve engineering outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • 24+ years of experience building software solutions using Java (JVM) and/or Python
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL development
  • Experience supporting reporting systems and customized report outputs
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with customer stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Experience working in Agile, cross-functional environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • CS, IS, MIS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with REST/JSON APIs and system integrations
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerized execution
  • Exposure to AWS services (ECS, ECR, S3, Lambda)
  • Exposure to modern data processing or ETL tools (e.g., AWS Glue, Redshift/Athena, Step Functions)
  • Familiarity with CRM-integrated workflows
  • Industry experience with ARM or debt collection platforms (a plus, not required)

Working Hours & Time Zone Requirement (Mandatory)

  • This role requires mandatory alignment with the US Eastern Time (ET) zone and is not a standard India daytime role
  • Candidates must work in a schedule that provides a minimum of 68 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time (ET) during standard US business hours
  • This typically translates to late afternoon to late evening IST shifts (and potentially later during US daylight saving periods)
  • Candidates who are unable to consistently support this time zone requirement should not apply
  • Flexibility to extend overlaps during critical implementation phases, customer go-lives, or issue resolution is required and expected
