Job Description for Senior Data Engineers at NCSi:
NCSi is seeking experienced Senior Data Engineers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that support data analytics and reporting. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to transform raw data into meaningful insights that drive strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust data processing systems and architecture.
- Develop, construct, test, and maintain data pipelines to ensure the integrity and accessibility of data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for maximum efficiency and performance.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data engineering.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with ETL tools and frameworks.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of data warehousing solutions and database architecture.
Tools and Technologies:
- Data processing frameworks: Apache Spark, Apache Kafka
- ETL tools: Apache NiFi, Talend, or similar
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB
- Cloud services: AWS (Redshift, S3), Azure (Data Lake, SQL Database), or Google Cloud Platform
- Version control: Git, GitHub, or GitLab
- Data modeling and warehousing tools
